Worldwide, our healthcare systems face similar challenges posed by the demographic transition. These include more people suffering from chronic diseases, higher demands, and expectations from patients as well as a shortage of resources. Therefore, there is an urgency to rethink ways to address these challenges and advance the level of health.
Denmark has a long-standing tradition and experience of working across sectors and stakeholders to improve citizens’ health, the sustainability of health systems and to strengthen Danish economy through growth, employment, and exports. Through a holistic approach, recognising the societal and health benefits of a strong, innovative life science industry, we believe that a thriving health community nurtures and encourages multilateral collaboration with guiding principles of shared responsibility, trustful partnerships, and willingness to invest in innovation to reach the next level of health. The aim of Tour de Health’24 is therefore to inspire and actively engage the international delegates by facilitating sharing of knowledge and experiences through dialogue, and discussing the value of, and opportunities for, multi-stakeholder and sector collaborations, and ways to achieve local commitment.
We cannot solve complex challenges alone or in silos; we need everyone to be involved, and we need to support public-private funding mechanisms. Denmark has a strong tradition of finding solutions in partnerships, across public and private stakeholders and sectors. Through multi-stakeholder partnerships we can find innovative solutions to the benefit of populations globally.
Tour de Health’24 is facilitating international knowledge-exchange and cooperation between 14 countries with a focus on a multistakeholder approach to health with the purpose to solve common healthcare challenges.
