Henrik C. Wegener, Rector of the University of Copenhagen since 2017, is a globally recognised expert in food safety, zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, and emerging infectious diseases. With a master’s degree in food science (1988) and a PhD in microbiology (1992), he has advised global authorities and served as Chief Science Advisor to the European Commission. He is the former Provost and Executive Vice President of the Technical University of Denmark, actively participates in numerous national and international committees and boards.
The University of Copenhagen, Denmark’s largest university, houses the Faculty of Health and Medical Science.
