Christine Wergeland Sørbye has served as CEO of Oslo Science City since 2019.

She holds an advanced master’s degree (Cand.Ed.) in Science of Education from the University of Oslo, with a specialization in leadership, organizational theory, and didactics.

In addition to her role at Oslo Science City, Christine serves as a board member of Oslo Business Region and is a member of the Steering Committee of the Global Institute of Innovation Districts (GIID).

She brings extensive experience in urban development and innovation strategy, including leading the development of Oslo’s official campus strategy to strengthen the city’s position as a leading knowledge capital.

As CEO of Oslo Science City, Christine leads Norway’s first innovation district, fostering collaboration between the City of Oslo, the University of Oslo, Oslo University Hospital, the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (Helse Sør-Øst RHF), research institutes, businesses, and government.
