Dr. Jane Philpott is Chair of Ontario’s Primary Care Action Team, where she leads efforts to ensure that all residents of Ontario have access to primary care by 2029.

She is a family physician and former Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Director of the School of Medicine at Queen’s University.

Throughout her career, Dr. Philpott has held several senior leadership positions in the Government of Canada, including Minister of Health, Minister of Indigenous Services, and President of the Treasury Board. She also brings more than three decades of experience in family medicine and global health.

In her current role, Dr. Philpott is leading initiatives to strengthen access to primary care and advance the transformation of healthcare services across Ontario. Her work focuses on building more accessible, equitable, and sustainable health systems.

In addition to her leadership and policy work, Dr. Philpott is the author of Health for All: A Doctor’s Prescription for a Healthier Canada, which outlines her vision for rebuilding Canada’s health systems and ensuring access to primary care for everyone.
