Dr. Poonam Meena is Director of International Cooperation and Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from SMS Medical College, Jaipur, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Rajasthan.

Dr. Meena brings extensive experience in government administration, healthcare policy, and regulatory affairs. Throughout her career, she has held administrative positions in Jaipur, Kolkata, and New Delhi and has worked across several areas of health policy and administration.

Prior to her current role, her responsibilities included medical education, clinical establishments, organ transplantation, tobacco control, and other public health programs.

In her current role, Dr. Meena works across international health cooperation and legal affairs, bringing together her experience in medicine, law, and public administration to support collaboration and policy development in global health.

Her professional interests focus on international health cooperation, healthcare policy, regulatory affairs, and strengthening collaboration across health systems.
