Rodrigo Vilar is CEO of the FIS Initiative (Health Innovation Forum Initiative), a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening collaboration and innovation across the healthcare ecosystem in Latin America.

He is trained as an engineer and holds a Master’s degree in Economics as well as postgraduate qualifications in Political Science and Health Management.

Throughout his career, Rodrigo has worked across the financial, commercial, and institutional relations sectors and has led a wide range of initiatives focused on healthcare innovation, business development, and system transformation.

Since becoming CEO of FIS in 2018, he has played a key role in expanding one of Latin America’s leading healthcare innovation networks. Under his leadership, the organization fosters healthcare business and services, bridging public and private sectors to accelerate digital transformation, improve management, and expand access to high-quality care.

Through its core work in education, industrial mapping, and high-level networking, the initiative has established major healthcare events in Brazil, such as FIS Week and Rio Innovation week, bringing together the Life Sciences ecosystem locally, as well as setting up a permanent hub in Brasília for policy engagement directly with legislators.
