Dr. Roger Monteiro Alencar is General Director of the Hospital Ortopédico do Estado da Bahia (HOEB), Brazil’s largest state-run orthopedic and trauma hospital, managed by Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein.

He is a physician and healthcare leader with specialist expertise in Internal Medicine and Critical Care. He has also completed advanced training in trauma care and public health leadership.

Throughout his career, Dr. Alencar has combined clinical practice, healthcare management, and medical education. In addition to his executive responsibilities, he contributes to leadership development through executive education programs for physician leaders at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein.

In his current role, he leads the strategic development and operations of HOEB, with a focus on healthcare quality, operational excellence, and innovation. Under his leadership, the hospital has advanced the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence to improve patient access, care delivery, and system performance.
