“Healthcare systems are entering a period where incremental adjustments will not be enough. We need to rethink how we organize, scale, and implement healthcare innovation if we are to ensure sustainable and equitable access to care in the future.”
That is the ambition behind Tour de Health’26 – Healthcare of Tomorrow: Healthcare in a Changing World – which has just launched its official conference program and website.
The high-level international conference, hosted by Healthcare Denmark on November 17–19, 2026, in Innovation District Copenhagen, will bring together senior international decision-makers across healthcare, government, academia, and life science to discuss how innovation, technology, and cross-sector collaboration can help address shared global health challenges.
“In a changing world marked by geopolitical shifts, demographic pressure, and rapid technological development, no country can solve these challenges alone. We need stronger international dialogues on implementation, resilience, and healthcare transformation,” says Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen, Chair of Healthcare Denmark.
The conference reflects a growing recognition that healthcare transformation is closely linked to broader questions of societal resilience, innovation capacity, and long-term sustainability.
Through keynote presentations, panel debates, workshops, and site visits, Tour de Health’26 aims to create a platform for peer-to-peer dialogue among leaders facing similar strategic challenges across healthcare systems globally.
The newly launched conference program includes discussions on:
Confirmed speakers include David Dreyer Lassen, Rector at the University of Copenhagen, Eva Hoffmann, Prorector at the University of Copenhagen, and Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen, Chair of Healthcare Denmark.
According to Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen, one of the central ambitions behind the conference is to strengthen international dialogue around implementation – not only innovation itself:
“Across many healthcare systems, we are becoming better at developing innovation than at implementing it at scale. One of the important discussions we need to have internationally is how healthcare systems can build the governance models, partnerships, incentives, and trust needed to translate innovation into real-world impact.”
Tour de Health’26 is organized in close collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, and Healthcare Denmark partners.
The conference will take place across venues in Innovation District Copenhagen, including the University of Copenhagen, the Niels Bohr Building, Maersk Tower, and selected Danish healthcare and life science environments.
As healthcare systems navigate increasing complexity and pressure, Tour de Health’26 aims to contribute to a broader international conversation on how innovation, collaboration, and implementation can help shape more resilient healthcare systems for the future.
