Eva Hoffmann

Prorector for Research and Innovation, University of Copenhagen

On 1 July 2025, Eva Hoffmann took office as the University of Copenhagen’s Prorector for Research and Innovation.
She holds a BA (1st Class) in Biology (1998) and a DPhil/PhD in Biochemistry (2002), both degrees from University of Oxford.

After completing her doctorate, she held a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowship and an MRC Senior Non‑clinical Research Fellowship at the Genome Damage and Stability Centre, University of Sussex, UK (2005‑2015).

Returning to Copenhagen, Eva was appointed Professor of Molecular Genetics at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, University of Copenhagen (2015 onward) and served as Acting Head of the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine (2022‑2025).

Her career combines groundbreaking research in chromosome stability and genomics with extensive leadership experience in academic and national research policy.

Eva will be speaking at the closing reception on November 18, at the Mærsk Tower, University of Copenhagen.
