Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen

Permanent Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark

Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen has served as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark since 2022.
 
He holds an MSc in Political Science from Aarhus University and an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
 
Throughout his diplomatic career, Jeppe has held several senior leadership positions within the Danish Foreign Service, including Ambassador to China, Permanent Representative of Denmark to the European Union, and Deputy Permanent Representative to the European Union. From 2015 to 2022, he served as Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union.
 
In his current role, Jeppe is responsible for supporting Denmark’s foreign, European, and international engagement and advancing cooperation with global partners across key strategic priorities.
