Mærsk Tårnet

The Maersk Tower

Inaugurated in 2017 and standing 75 meters tall, the Maersk Tower is a flagship building of the University of Copenhagen’s Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

The architecture of the Maersk Tower is based on an idea of creating communities – between researchers, students and the city. Designed by the Danish firm C.F. Møller Architects, its façade is clad in 3,300 copper shutters that give the structure a distinctive, relief‑like appearance and contribute to its sustainable profile.

The tower combines state‑of‑the‑art research laboratories, scientific offices, teaching spaces and auditoriums, while a public viewpoint on the 15th floor offers panoramic views of the city.

The building exemplifies innovative, energy‑efficient architecture that supports world‑class health research and serves as a prominent landmark on the university’s Panum campus. With its inviting, sustainable campus park and open square, the Maersk Tower is fully integrated with the surrounding neighborhood. Like the rest of Panum, the building is located at the center of the Innovation District Copenhagen.
