Jakob Kjellberg is Professor of Health Economics at the Danish Center for Social Science Research (VIVE).

He holds a degree in Health Economics from the University of York and has an academic background in Mathematical Planning from Aarhus University.

Prior to joining VIVE, Jakob worked at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., and in the Planning Department at Hvidovre Hospital.

His work focuses on healthcare capacity planning, organization, and financial management, with particular expertise in the interaction between primary and specialized healthcare services. He also conducts research on the societal and economic burden of disease, including the impact on labor market participation and the consequences for patients’ relatives and caregivers.

Jakob is a highly sought-after speaker on healthcare and health policy and is consistently ranked among the ten most frequently cited expert sources in Denmark.
