Anna Cecilia Frellsen has served as CEO of Maternity Foundation since 2013.

She holds an MBA from IESE Business School and brings more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning global development, maternal health, technology, philanthropy, and healthcare.

Prior to joining Maternity Foundation, Anna held leadership and advisory roles in both the private and non-profit sectors, including serving as CEO of a start-up, Partner at KPMG Strategy, and Consultant at McKinsey & Company. Throughout her career, she has worked across Europe, the United States, Southeast Asia, India, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Under Anna’s leadership, Maternity Foundation has become a leading global actor in maternal health. She has led the scale-up of the Safe Delivery App, which supports more than half a million midwives and healthcare professionals across more than 70 low- and middle-income countries.

In addition to her executive responsibilities, Anna serves on the boards of the William Demant Foundation, William Demant Invest, and CfL (Danish Management Center).
