Dr. Maddur Srinivas is Member (Health) at NITI Aayog, the Government of India’s apex public policy think tank.

He is a pediatric surgeon and healthcare leader with extensive experience in medical education, hospital management, healthcare governance, and health system transformation. He holds an M.Ch. in Pediatric Surgery from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Prior to joining NITI Aayog, Dr. Srinivas served as Director of AIIMS New Delhi, where he led initiatives to strengthen healthcare delivery, improve patient services, and advance the adoption of digital health. Earlier in his career, he served as Founder Dean of ESIC Medical College and Hospital in Hyderabad and contributed to the establishment of medical colleges in Bihar and Rajasthan.

Throughout his career, Dr. Srinivas has combined clinical expertise with senior leadership in healthcare and medical education, with a particular focus on institutional reform, patient safety, and healthcare quality.

His professional interests focus on healthcare governance, digital health, medical education, and strengthening equitable and affordable healthcare through technology, collaboration, and integrated health systems.
